Our Collaboration with Novartis

We had the privilege of supporting Novartis in two key initiatives: ProductX and the LEAP Program. Our involvement focused on fostering agility, innovation, and leadership development to enhance the company’s ability to deliver life-changing medicines.

ProductX: Fostering Innovation and Agility

Our journey with Novartis began as part of the ProductX Team, a multidisciplinary group bringing together expertise in product development, agility, innovation, and culture transformation. The ProductX Team had created a highly effective Playbook, drawing inspiration from leaders in innovation, including Strategizer and the Silicon Valley Product Group (SVPG).

Our contribution was centred around providing agility expertise. We facilitated workshops inspired by Sociocracy 3.0 patterns, designed to enhance collaboration, decision-making, and transparency across teams. These workshops empowered team members to work more efficiently while fostering a culture of continuous innovation.

LEAP Program: Developing Agile Leaders and Teams

A few months after us joining ProductX, we joined the LEAP Program, a critical initiative for Novartis supported by the ProductX Team. Our primary role was to provide Agile training and coaching for 150 individuals across multiple teams within the program. Through hands-on workshops and tailored support, we ensured that teams were equipped with the knowledge and tools to embrace Agile Ways of Working.

In addition to team-level training, we worked closely with leaders, helping them develop Situational Leadership skills. This leadership development approach, which we emphasize in our Agility in Leadership & Organizations, enables leaders to adapt their management style to the specific needs of their teams and the challenges they face. Feedback from both the leaders and their teams was overwhelmingly positive, with leaders praising the impact of the training on their personal growth and the enhanced performance of their teams.
